Problem:Des öfteren stehe ich bei der Fernwartung von "unbekannten" Maschinen unter Linux (via ssh) vor dem Problem herauszufinden, auf welcher Hardware das System eigentlich läuft.
Lösung:Ein sehr brauchbares Tool ist dabei dmidecode - dabei kommt es natürlich drauf an, wie "ordentlich" der Mainboard-Hersteller den DMI-Code verfasst hat. Schnell war somit der Boardtyp 'SE7230NH1LX' ermittelt. Nach einer einfachen Suche bei Goggle nach diesem Begriff war auch schnell der Hersteller bekannt, bereits der erste Link in der Liste war ein Volltreffer: 'Intel® Entry Server Board SE7230NH1-E and Intel® Entry Server' Wobei das SE7230NH1LX wohl die Low-Profile Variante des Boards SE7320NH1-E ist - passend für das 1HE-Gehäuse. Wenn man auf der Intel-Site die dort verfügbare Suche bemüht und nur nach tatsächlich nur nach 'SE7230NH1' sucht, findet man als ersten Treffer die Support-Seite für dieses Mainboard.
